Volvo’s lineup continues to expand with the introduction of the new 2015.5 Volvo V60 Cross Country.
Volvo Cars, the Swedish Transport Administration and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration are working together on a project to enable cars to share information about conditions that relate to road friction (such as icy patches).
The all-new Volvo XC90 is proving to be a hit with customers even before it has appeared in showrooms, with over 16,000 orders for the brand new seven-seat SUV already received.
“These strong order numbers are very encouraging and it shows that customers obviously like what they see in the new XC90,” says Håkan Samuelsson, President and CEO of Volvo Cars. “The new XC90 represents the new Volvo Cars and it is the first in a series of new cars to come, as we renew our entire product portfolio in the coming years.”
Volvo Cars today reinforced its product offensive in the US by unveiling two new sedans at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, moving it a significant step closer towards its medium term goal of selling 100,000 cars a year in the US.
The Volvo S60 Inscription and the Volvo S60 Cross Country will boost Volvo’s presence in the important premium sedan market. Volvo is also introducing the all new XC90 R Design in Detroit, the latest version of its seven seat SUV that was launched in the US in Los Angeles.
Volvo Cars has received yet another award for its highly successful Drive-E powertrain family. The prize, announced on December 10th at WardsAuto Outlook Conference in Southfield, Michigan, marks further recognition of Volvo’s highly successful Drive-E powertrain technology.
The XC90 T8 can go from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds, delivering all the driving pleasure customers have come to expect from a Volvo SUV. But driving pleasure is only a fraction of what the XC90 T8 offers: the car has five different driving modes that deliver a range of performance and efficiency-enhancing characteristics.
